In the series, Void, I use myself as the subject to show themes of self reflection. I gesture towards beauty, antiquity and terror in this series in reference to traumas I have experienced in my life.

The self-portrait images are taken with a DSLR on a tripod on a self timer - I then proceed to jump to create movement in the dress and my hair as well. Choosing from the images, I used Camera Raw to paint in a chiaroscuro effect with shadows.

The images of the antique mirror are stretched and distorted to create an surreal effect, taking the object out of reality.

With Photoshop, I layer the two images together and mirror certain layers to create the composition I have in mind.
